Iza Mariyam
Iza Mariyam, a 2-year-old, accidentally swallowed a button battery. This caused harm to her food pipe which began to bleed. She was treated on an urgent basis at Aster Medcity.
The little one recovered. The family survives hand to mouth in a house situated on 5 cents of land at an interior part of Thrissur district. Her father job as cook wasn’t enough to support his daughter’s medical bills.
Aster Sick Kids Foundation contributed a significant amount to Iza’s treatment.
Sumitha's baby
Sumitha’s new born baby got admitted at Aster Medcity. The baby had a defect due to which her bowels had slid into her chest.
The baby underwent a complex surgery at Aster and was cured.
The father is a painter and the sole breadwinner.
ASK foundation supported the child’s surgery charges.
Smitha's baby
Mrs. Smitha K. Had to deliver her new born much before the due date. While pregnant Smitha was found to have a faulty heart valve and required surgery.
Her baby thus arrived pre-term. The child was not fit to face the world yet and a had long stay in our NICU.Her husband an un-skilled worker is the only breadwinner of the family.

Shaniba's baby
Shaniba’s, 9-day-old baby was brought to Aster Medcity with breathing difficulty. The new born was treated at our Neonatal ICU.
The family thrives from the income of Shaniba’s husband who works in mobile retail and her father in law who owns a petty shop.

Haniya Hana
Baby Haniya Hanan was born with extrahepatic biliary atresia.
She underwent a Kasai operation at Aster Medcity, Kochi.
The family was supported financially by Aster Sick Kids Foundation.
Jonathan
Jonathan, a 7-month-old, took ill with Kwashiorkor.
It is a form of malnutrition caused by a lack of protein in the diet. People who have kwashiorkor typically have an extremely emaciated appearance in all body parts except their ankles, feet, and belly, which swell with fluid.
His father, an auto driver, was supported financially by ASK Foundation towards his treatment.
Agnal John Denny’s
Baby Agnal John Denny’s father is an auto driver. The child was brought to Medcity with multiple problems viz atopic dermatitis, septicemia, respiratory infection and hypothyroidism.
In view of the financial situation of the family his treatment costs were supported by Aster Sick Kids Foundation.
Kesiya
Biliary Atresia is a rare disease of the liver and bile ducts that occurs in infants. Symptoms of the disease appear or develop about two to eight weeks after birth.
When a baby has biliary atresia, bile flow from the liver to the gallbladder is blocked. This causes the bile to be trapped inside the liver, quickly causing damage and eventually liver failure.
5-month-old baby Kesiya got admitted at Medcity with billiary atresia and underwent Kasai’s portoenterostomy. This procedure was developed in 1951 by Japanese biliary and hepatic pediatric surgeon Morio Kasai.
She lives with parents and grandparents in a small house in 10 cents of land at interior Thrissur district. Father is an auto driver and the only breadwinner of the family.
