She was transferred to NICU at Aster Medcity. She was on a ventilator and was cooled to protect her brain. Joby was not able to afford the treatment. His wife Josmi also required further treatment. ASK extended support for the baby's treatment. The cost of treatment was subsidized. One of our ASK volunteers Mrs Nisha Pillai ran an online crowd funding campaign to raise funds. Timely and effective treatment helped with a complete recovery of the child. Baby was discharged home healthy.

Adilakshmi
Adilakshmi is 16 years old and hails from a village in Bellary district. When Dr Satish .M. Vasisthta , Cranio facial surgeon , met her in a camp . Adilakshmis jaws were deformed by birth. She was not able to open her mouth completely or chew food.
She was depressed and was not confident to face the world due to her deformity. She needed a surgery to get back to her life. Her father is a farmer and mother is a home maker. He could not afford his daughters surgery. Dr Satish approached ASK . ASK subsidized her treatment cost to one to fourth. She underwent surgery successfully and recovered well. She now has a big beautiful smile and a new found confidence to face the world.
Shreyas
Master Shreyas underwent a Liver transplant three years ago. His father who works in a private firm was happy with the recovery he made. He was repaying the debt he incurred for his sons treatment. Fate was not kind enough to him when he noticed that Shreyas had a very abnormal and aggressive behavior. He took him to his treating doctor who sent him to a neurologits. He was evaluated and noticed to have mesial temporal sclerosis. He would need a neurosurgery for control of symptoms.
Operation would cost two and half lakhs which family could not raise. ASK supported the the family by subsidizing the care. He underwent the surgery at ASTER CMI Bangalore successfully. He made good recovery and is back to school.

Yusuf ali and Julia Sultana hail from a remote village in Bangladesh. Yusuf is a farmer and Julia is a home maker living with a very meager income from agricultural sources. They were devastated when their 13 month old son, Master Jubaid Husain , was diagnosed with a tumor in his liver. Only option left for the family was to travel to India and avail treatment. They sold and mortgaged everything they had to raise money for travel to Bangalore. The family was heartbroken to find out that Jubaid required an urgent surgery followed by chemotherapy for good recovery. They never anticipated this nor was financially prepared. They were desperately looking at the prospect of going back to Bangladesh with their sick child. When they were frantically looking around sources for supporting his treatment, they were introduced to ASK team at Aster CMI Bangalore.
They met Dr Sonal Asthana, Hepato Biliary and Transplant surgeon at Aster CMI, who took initiative to raise funds for the surgery along with ASK. ASK contributed to his treatment expenses. Jubdaid underwent surgery successful at Aster CMI. He completed his chemotherapy and made good recovery. Jubaid and his family is returning to their home in Bangladesh.
Shamil Sheriff
Shamil Sheriff is an eight-year-old boy. He was diagnosed to have a brain tumor and required immediate surgery. Family was not able to afford the treatment expenses. Father is daily wage worker who never anticipated this. ASK subsidized his treatment expenses. He underwent his surgery successfully and is on follow up for ongoing care under oncology. We pray for his complete recovery.
Master Irshan
Master Irshan is a first standard student who was diagnosed with a tumor in his brain . He hails from a very poor family. His father Ibrahim is an auto driver. His meager income has to support his family which includes his aged parents, disabled brother and Irshans two younger siblings. The family was devastated by this diagnosis and faced a big challenge to raise finances for his treatment.
Immediate neighbors and public rallied around him to raise funds. ASK joined hands and subsidized treatment cost at Aster Medcity. Irshan underwent surgery uneventfully and made good recovery.
