Yusuf ali and Julia Sultana hail from a remote village in Bangladesh. Yusuf is a farmer and Julia is a home maker living with a very meager income from agricultural sources. They were devastated when their 13 month old son, Master Jubaid Husain , was diagnosed with a tumor in his liver. Only option left for the family was to travel to India and avail treatment. They sold and mortgaged everything they had to raise money for travel to Bangalore. The family was heartbroken to find out that Jubaid required an urgent surgery followed by chemotherapy for good recovery. They never anticipated this nor was financially prepared. They were desperately looking at the prospect of going back to Bangladesh with their sick child. When they were frantically looking around sources for supporting his treatment, they were introduced to ASK team at Aster CMI Bangalore. They met Dr Sonal Asthana, Hepato Biliary and Transplant surgeon at Aster CMI, who took initiative to raise funds for the surgery along with ASK. ASK contributed to his treatment expenses. Jubdaid underwent surgery successful at Aster CMI. He completed his chemotherapy and made good recovery. Jubaid and his family is returning to their home in Bangladesh.
Shamil Sheriff is an eight-year-old boy. He was diagnosed to have a brain tumor and required immediate surgery. Family was not able to afford the treatment expenses.
